Born in Leicester, Carol studied Fine Arts at various colleges and universities in the Midlands. She opened her own studio in 1977, exhibiting and selling woven textiles and paintings. She also worked as a lecturer at the Norfolk College of Arts and Technology, as well as teaching privately and for Adult Education. She has had many solo exhibitions in England. 

Her work is about investigating archaeological influences on the landscape via mostly large-scale paintings in acrylic and mixed media incorporating vibrant colour, texture and spontaneous, gestural mark-making.
