Jacy Wall, Stitched Square, Etching & Drypoint 15 x 15cm
Jacy gained a degree in Constructed Textiles from Middlesex Polytechnic and in Multi-Disciplinary Printmaking from UWE Bristol. Although she never became a fabric designer, this training has had a lasting influence on her artwork.
Printmaking is an important part of her practice, creating a conversation between weaving and drawing, yarn and paper. The nature of textiles continues to be a central theme in her prints, playing with pattern, structure and stitch, sometimes deconstructing work and piecing things together again. She rarely editions more than a very few copies, more usually making a series of variations from one plate.
