St. Michael‘s Mount from-Bosiliak, oil on board, 30 x 23 cm.
Living near Penzance, Jill Eisele is a prolific and energetic land and seascape painter. Her work has been selected for many open exhibitions, including the RBA at the Mall Galleries in London and the Penwith Society in St. Ives. She teaches in the UK and USA. Teaching always has been an invaluable opportunity for her to share knowledge and techniques and to create with others.
Jill paints vibrant, textured works on canvas and paper, inspired by the dynamism and colours of the Cornish landscape around her. Her practice begins with drawing in the countryside, capturing fleeting moments where light and colour create atmosphere and expression. These underpin her largely figurative paintings, which convey a sense of incompleteness; of place and mystery. She describes her approach to painting as “I like to paint like a bird sings!”
